Spices are dried or otherwise treated (minced, crushed ..) plant parts such as roots, rhizomes, leaves, stems, buds, flowers, fruits or seeds characterized by a distinctive aroma and flavour. We import spices from distant subtropical and tropical regions of our planet, where it is harvested mostly by hand and then dried.
